Francesco Lombardi holds a MSc in Energy Engineering, obtained at Politecnico di Milano, where he currently works as a Doctoral Researcher within the Department of Energy. His research focuses on the modelling of heat and electricity sectors integration within multi-energy systems (MES), with the objective of supporting more informed and effective decarbonisation strategies at the local and country-wide level. He developed the open-source model RAMP for stochastic load generation, co-developed the open-source optimisation models MicroGridsPy and MES-Py, and is actively collaborating to the further development of the open energy system modelling framework Calliope.
